Crescent Moon Armoury was started in 2005 by Parker Brown as an extension of his studies as a metalsmith and jeweler. Mr. Brown’s interests focus on, but are not limited to historical arms and armour from Classical, Medieval and Renaissance Europe. Born in Dallas, Texas and educated at the University of North Texas, where he received an M.F.A. degree in Metalsmithing/Jewelry,
Mr. Brown is an avid enthusiast of historical arms and armour. His intimate knowledge of the subject is reflected in the technical, conceptual and physical aspects of his artwork. His research and practical application of historical armour has been brought to use in the custom armour produced by Crescent Moon Armoury.
Mr. Brown is a member of the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts (ARMA), an organization dedicated to the academic study of historical European arms and armour from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. As part of his research, he has lectured at various schools and events on the creation and use of armour.
The goal of Crescent Moon Armoury is to provide the best in custom and ready-to-use armour for the Renaissance martial arts community.
Crescent Moon Armoury runs and operates as closely as possible to a traditional armour shoppe of the Renaissance period. Each piece of armour is custom tailored to fit the individual wearer. The result is a practical and real work of martial defense that features unparalleled craftsmanship and artistry.
Aside from his skills as an armourer, Mr. Brown has completed commission work in gold, silver and bronze for a variety of clients including the Texas A&M campus in Doha, Qatar.
